    Arcade BASIC

A Full BASIC (ANSI X3.113 / ECMA-116) interpreter and bytecode VM written in C#; here it runs in your browser, compiled to WebAssembly. Your programs stay on your computer: they're kept in this browser and in the files you save. Nothing is sent anywhere.

    The editor is CodeMirror.

    Program files

The files your programs write are kept in this browser, so they're still here next time. Download one to keep a copy somewhere else.

No files yet. A program makes one with OPEN #1: NAME "notes.txt", ACCESS OUTPUT.

    Export

The program, ready to give to people: compiled, without its source.

Draw a picture named icon (Tools → Insert a new picture…) and it's chosen for you.

    Tune

    New notes: Octaves

Click the piano, or play it on the keyboard (A W S E D F T G Y H U J K), to add notes where the cursor is in the string; Space plays it. Notes are the string's Music Macro Language: A–G with # or -, a length (4 a quarter, 8 an eighth …), O octave, < > down or up an octave, P a rest, T tempo, L default length.
